It is amazing to me that I remember Laurence Fishburne when he did Cornbeard, Earl and Me in 1975. Yes, I saw it in the movie theater. If I’m not mistaken, it was Fishburne’s big screen debut. Now, the 47-year-old actor will be joining the cast of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, as John Grissom’s (played by William Petersen) replacement. Fishburne will play the role of a college lecturer and former pathologist with a secret. Ok, that’s a way to pull you in. CSI, entering its 10th season, remains one of my favorite shows (when I get to watch it). Hopefully this season they won’t put it up against any of my other favorite shows.

You know I hate to see William Petersen leave the show because he’s such a quirky character. However, I think Laurence Fishburn will be an excellent replacement. Apocalypse Now, Boyz n the Hood, What’s Love Got to Do with It?, Searching for Bobby Fischer, Just Cause, The Tuskegee Airment, Othello, Miss Evers’ Boys, The Matrix, Mystic River, Akeelah and the Bee, Mission Impossible III, 21. How can you beat credits like that?
