I haven’t been watching the series–mostly because I’ve been working–but I know it has prompted some lively discussions. Evidently there was a segment on interracial relationships and the children produced from those unions. I came across an excellent “essay” written in response to that segment. It was written by actress Lynn Whitfield’s 16-year-old daughter.
You can read it here–Anderson Cooper 360: Blog Archive – I am neither black nor white. I’m both « – Blogs from CNN.com.

I watched both segments of the series. This particular part did generate a lot of conversation. Overall, it has focused on the negatives. Then again, things aren’t peachy overall for the greater portion of Black folk in America. I think the series does a good job of accomplishing why we feel the way we do at times. Lynn Whitfield is a very strong writer though. I’m expecting there will be a lot more from her in the near future.

What a smart young lady! Thanks for linking to that essay. I’m sure mom is bubbling with pride.

I saw the MLK assassination one when it first aired earlier in the year but I didn’t see the last two that got all of the hype.
Thanks for stopping by my page!
